BUILT FOR REAL HOBBY DESKS
Stand a board behind your miniature, lower the camera to model height and move a lamp around. Suddenly you have a small scene instead of a model on a cutting mat.
We have tried these backgrounds with a camera and a mobile phone, studio lights and a desk lamp. The matte surface helps reduce reflections; the rigid card keeps the scene flat.
Support the panel with a book stand or clamp. Add terrain or a matching floor tile if you want the scene to continue beneath the model.

A phone, a lamp and a little experimenting will get you started. Your product page includes more tips for lighting and composition.
Look at the desk setup ↑Start with the board roughly 5–30 cm behind your model. Adjust until it fills the frame without distracting from the miniature.
Look across the scene rather than down at the desk. Tap the miniature to focus if you are using a phone.
Move a lamp to the side and experiment. Let the backdrop sit a little darker so the model remains the focus.
Use a closer crop, scenic ground or scatter terrain to hide where the board ends. Step back and try your phone’s optical zoom, if available.
BEFORE YOU PICK A SCENE
Physical backdrops. You receive five printed rigid matte-card panels, each 14 × 10.5 in (approximately 36 × 27 cm). There is nothing to download or print at home.
They are designed around 28–32 mm tabletop miniatures and gaming terrain. They work for character photos, small groups and composed scenes. For taller models or wider groups, check the 36 × 27 cm panel dimensions against your framing; camera angle and distance affect how much background you need.
Yes. Use them with miniatures at the scales common to Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar, Kill Team, Necromunda and other tabletop games. Pick a scene that suits your models and basing. These are independent 2D6.UK products, not official or licensed accessories for those games.
A phone and a desk lamp are enough to start experimenting. Support the backdrop with a suitable book stand or clamp. A stand, lighting and miniatures are not included.
A matching printed surface beneath the miniature, so the scene continues from background to foreground. Choose Backdrops + Floor Tile on your selected design’s product page for five panels plus one 14 × 14 in floor tile. The standard set contains the five backdrop panels only.
Yes. Place the backdrop behind your existing scenery or scenic base. Many designs also have a matching 2D6 Gaming Mat; individual product pages link to the matching battlefield.
